Information on what equipment the group has
A R23 Citroen truck. Originally issued to the French forces after the invasion of France. Citroen continued to make trucks during the war for the German Army. This particular version 4.2 ton, was seen to be a standard German Vehicle. They saw action on all fronts.
1943 Willy’s Jeep:
The group has at its use at most events a 1943 Willy’s Jeep. The vehicle the unit uses as a captured vehicle. Panzer Lehr captured hundreds of these vehicles throughout the war and utilised them. As you can see in the picture its done up with the flag on the bonnet for aircraft identification and pennants on the rear so ground troops can tell it’s been captured.
Two Motorbike’s and side cars:
The group has two bikes both of which are replica BMW R75’s. This is an on-going project for the group to get them running and looking the part.
The group has a panzershreck which at this time is a replica. The intention is to convert this to fire black powder charges, like seen in the groups old Panzerschreck pictured.
Granatwerfer 34 (German 81mm Mortar):
The most recent acquisition is a blank firing replica of the German Mortar, which simulates firing as it was done by the troops who used it during World War two. The group make an effort to learn the drill and often apply this in battle re-enactments.
The group also owns a replica PAK 36 which fires a black powder charge. This works, but is an ongoing project by the group to improve it.
The group members also own many of the guns used by the German army whether they are deactivated or purpose built blank firing weapons and in some case live weapons.
Members are happy at events to answer any questions you may have about any of the weapons you see here or wish to know about.
